A World War Two gun emplacement on Kelling Heath is visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1). This gun emplacement is likely to have been constructed as part of training activities on the heath. At TG 1038 4184 is an oval sunken area measuring 5m by 6m. This is surrounded by a horseshoe shaped bank, 1m wide with an entrance to the northwest.
