Summary

Cropmarks of undated linear ditches, probably field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs. These ditches are predominantly on a northwest to southeast of southwest to northeast alignment. It is likely that they are field boundaries, but the cropmarks are too fragmentary for any individual fields to be clearly defined.

Map

October 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of undated linear ditches, probably field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). These cropmarks are centred on TG 4794 1186. A total of eighteen sections of linear ditch are present in this group. These ditches are predominantly on a northwest to southeast of southwest to northeast alignment. It is likely that they are field boundaries, but the cropmarks are too fragmentary for any individual fields to be clearly defined. The alignment of these ditches does not correspond to the modern field pattern. Although undated, these field boundaries have a similar alignment to a more extensive area of Bronze Age field system cropmarks 1km to the northeast (NHER 12997) and could be of a contemporaneous date.
