Summary

Metal detecting in 2005 and 2022 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and a range of other, Late Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include undated copper alloy metalworking scrap; a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; Roman brooches, bracelet fragments, a finger ring with glass setting, nail cleaner, steelyard fragment, prick spur and military harness strap slide; a Middle Saxon pit; a Middle-Late Saxon hooked tag and strap end; a Late Saxon furniture fitting; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval casket key, thimble, purse frame pendent loop and unidentified copper alloy object; a medieval/post medieval dagger scabbard chape, chafing dish fragment, lead probable bird feeder and lead weight and post-medieval furniture fittings, a rotary key, knife end stop, scabbard chape, harness mount, book clasp, copper alloy hinge and lead cloth seals.
