Summary

Metal-detecting in 2005 and a systematic survey of part of this field in 2013/2014 recovered Late Neolithic or later worked flints and a number of metal objects, including Roman brooches; an Early Saxon brooch; a medieval buckle and post-medieval button.

July-August 2005. Metal-detecting.
1 Roman brooch (dolphin-type).
1 Early Saxon small-long brooch (S1).
1 medieval buckle frame.
Identified by S. Ashley (NLA). See list in file.

July 2013-April 2014. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Survey of proposed route of Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm onshore cable (Field 165).
Finds recovered at this location included:
1 Late Neolithic or later flint scraper and 1 flake.
1 Roman headstud brooch.
1 post-medieval copper alloy button, 1 iron button, 1 pewter button and 1 brass button.
