Summary

An archaeological evaluation in 2005 revealed a small oval pit with six small pottery sherds from the fill, of Iron Age and Roman date.

November 2005. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site. Contexts 100 to 401.
Revealed a small oval pit with six small pottery sherds from the fill. These sherds were identified as a mix of Iron Age, Roman and Saxon pottery, although a subsequent re-examination suggests that all are Iron and Roman (see below).

The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2010.89).

February 2006. Examination of the pottery by NLA suggests that these sherds are all Iron Age and Roman.
