Full Description
Former Harleston Station, No 37 Station Road.
Station on Waveney Valley Line, opened 1855. Waveney Valley Railway was begun in 1851 and opened in 1855, taken over by Great Eastern Railway in 1863 and closed in 1960.
November 1976. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description excerpt:
"...Italianate, grey brick, low pitched slate roof with large shaped eaves brackets. Two storeys, 1:2:1 window pattern; outside bays with brick pilasters. First floor round headed windows, small at centre; ground floor flat headed windows, outside ones with brick architraves and cornices. Central round arched doorway under cornice approached by steps. Brick stacks. Platform canopy to north demolished."

Building has been cleaned, showing construction is in fact bright yellow brick not grey. Interior divided up for use as offices but there is a passage with round arches yet not in line with entrance door.
