Full Description
House, aligned north-south, south gable on to the street set between houses aligned east-west, the same pattern as shown on (S1). Coated in fletton brickwork.
In September 2005 a crosswing in neo-Georgian style was added to the south end.
During this work portions of a timber framed building with diamond mullioned windows was found, described by (S2) as possibly the oldest house in the village but beyond saving. [1].
Diamond mullioned windows begin in the early Medieval and continued in use for minor rooms until the 17th century.
E. Rose (NLA), 10 October 2005.
