Summary

An originally timber framed building, this may have started life as a medieval hall house, but most of the evidence for this has been obscured by later alterations. The building contains items dating to the 16th and 17th centuries, but these were added in the early 20th century.

Map

House, now mostly of 19th century brickwork. Interior has traces of timber frame, and 17th century chimney. Some details imply that this was a medieval hall house floored in 17th century, but little evidence remains. Many 16th/17th century items imported in early 20th century.

June 2006. Visit.
A brick faced house with extensions to the east and west walls during the 20th century. A one time, probably in the late 19th or early 20th century, it was a public house called the Three Bells. The house dates from the 17th century but the roof is an anomaly in a 17th century house as King posts are not normally seen in Norfolk until later. The posts are pegged to the collar and tie beam suggests that they are original features.
