Summary

No 1 is a brick house of probable 17th century date with a late 18th century façade. This three storey building has five bays, a central door with Doric columns and a hipped roof of black glazed pantiles.

Listing Description excerpt:
"House. Late 18th century facade but probably with earlier core. Brick with roof of black glazed pantiles. Three storeys in five bays. Central half-glazed door in deep panelled reveals. Two fluted Doric engaged columns support entablature with metope frieze and hood...Moulded string course below second floor, the windows of which are horned replacements. Hipped roof with a clustered ridge stack left of centre. Subsidiary stack on east roof slope. Rear brick cross wing with gabled pantiled roof of 17th-century origins. North gable on kneelers. Cut-down and rebuilt internal gable-end stack to north."

West side of rear wing seen. Two levels of blocked windows; bricks have diagonal skintlings (pre 1780) confirming 17th-century date.
