Summary

No 14 is a small brick house thought to date to around 1840 to 1850. It is of Flemish bond brickwork, and although it currently appears to be a lodge to Resthaven mansion (not listed), it actually predates it, and may have been a north lodge to Thorpe Lodge (NHER 4650).

Map

NB the building is just into Norwich City although its postal address is Thorpe St Andrew.

Small brick house gabled east-west. Brickwork in Flemish bond with horizontal skintlings. North wall blank. West gable wall has window with moulded lintel above single storey bay window. Projection to south not shown on (S1) clearly has an original window reset in south wall. Though now appearing as a lodge to Resthaven, that mansion was not present in 1880 when (S1) shows 14 Harvey Lane; it may have been a north lodge to Thorpe Lodge, or possibly may have stood on the west side of the old course of the road, along the boundary, since moved. Date of building probably around 1840 to 1850.
Photographic record requested if demolished.
