Map

House examined after being gutted by fire. Brick shell with dentilled cornice. End stacks. Roof had dovetail nailed joints to attach collars to principals. Upper floor joists replaced some years ago, when it is said a photograph of reed plaster was sent to Gressenhall Museum. Owner in 2004 stated he had found beams inside the walls with brick infill in panels; this sounds like softwood horizontals between brick courses.
Nothing visible dating to before c1800 despite a local legend that it is 16th century.
E. Rose (NLA), 31 October 2005.
