Full Description
September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
An area of post medieval field boundaries is visible on aerial photographs, to the north of the Waxham New Cut at Lam Bridge, Sea Palling (S1 and S2). The site is centred on TG 4326 2543. These ditches, probably acting as drains, are located within an area of possibly late medieval to post medieval field boundaries and trackways (NHER 42038). The boundaries included within this site appear to post-date NHER 42038 and relate to the later post medieval phase of enclosure and drainage as marked on the 1839 Palling Tithe map (S3). Although the ditches or drains themselves are not marked on the map, they do appear to coincide with those in adjoining fields.
S. Massey (NMP), 30 September 2005.
