Summary

A single trial trench excavated at this site in 2005 revealed no archaeologically significant features or deposits. A small number of unstratified finds were recovered including a possible Mesolithic flint microlith, Neolithic/Bronze Age flint blades and sherds of Roman and ?Middle Saxon pottery.

September 2005. Trial Trench.
Single trench excavation on site of proposed development. Contexts 1 to 4 used.
No archaeologically significant features or deposits observed. The small number of unstratified finds recovered included:
1 ?Mesolithic ?flint microlith.
2 ?Neolithic/Bronze Age flint flakes.
2 Roman pottery sherds.
5 ?Middle Saxon pottery sherds.
