December 2005. Norfolk NMP.
An inter-tidal structure probably a revetment of post medieval to modern date is visible on aerial photographs (S2-S4). This structure is located at TG 4763 0601 on the southern edge of Breydon Water and was identified by the Norfolk Rapid Coastal Survey (S1). An intermittent linear structure is present for 150m on a southwest to northeast alignment parallel to the bank of the estuary. It appears to be formed by a line of posts. These are possibly joined by horizontal timbers, although the exact construction of the structure is not clear from the aerial photographs. It is likely that it is a revetment of post medieval to modern date. It is not marked on the early 20th century second edition 25" to the mile Ordnance Survey map (S5) and was either out of use by, or constructed after, that time.
J. Albone (NMP), 9 December 2005.
