Summary

An earthwork of a possible saltern mound of Late Saxon to medieval date is visible on aerial photographs. It has an irregular elongated curvilinear plan and measures up to 55m by 18m. It is bounded on its northern side by an extant drainage ditch which curves around the mound. Other saltern mounds are located 330m by 481m to the south of this site.

An earthwork of a possible saltern mound of Late Saxon to medieval date is visible on aerial photographs (S1 and S2). This mound is located at TG 4632 0603. It has an irregular elongated curvilinear plan and measures up to 55m by 18m. It is bounded on its northern side by an extant drainage ditch which curves around the mound. It is likely that this is a saltern mound of Late Saxon to medieval date. Other saltern mounds are located 330m by 481m to the south of this site.
