Map

December 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A World War Two air raid shelter is visible on aerial photographs from 1946 (S1) in the front garden of a property on Church Lane, Bradwell. The site is centred on TG 5058 0389. The shelter, probably an Anderson, is visible as an extant earthen covered oblong mound, approximately 3.5m by 2.5m, with a revetted wall or an entrance hatch to the east. The shelter was constructed at the front of 39 Church Lane, although its location now falls within 39a Church Lane. It is not clear from the aerial photographs whether this structure still survives, although this seems unlikely.
S. Massey (NMP), 19 December 2005.
