Map

December 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A World War Two air raid shelter is visible on aerial photographs from 1945 (S1) in the back garden of a property on the A143, Beccles Road, Gorleston. The site is centred on TG 5183 0479. The shelter, probably an Anderson, is visible as an extant earthen covered oblong mound, approximately 2.5m by 2m. The shelter was constructed at the rear of 281 Beccles Road. It is not immediately clear from the aerial photographs whether any of this structure still survives, although this seems unlikely.
S. Massey (NMP), 19 December 2005.
