NHER 42780 (Building record) - Fairmead, Common Road

Listed as: Cottage east of High Green Farm, High Common.
When inspected, in state of dereliction. Timber framed, with lozenge bracing on gable wall and arched bracing on side walls. All timbers very slight; upper floor rests on nailed girths; timbers nailed and tied with tarred string. Wattle and daub infill. T shaped stack with bread oven, part destroyed. Two cells, two storeys. Probably a common-edge 18th century squatter's cottage.

Probably 18th century. Plastered. Pantile roof with gabled ends. Two storeys. Two windows. Modern 2-light casements with glazing bars. Central modern glazed door. Lean-to on east end. Central brick chimney stack.
