Summary

A World War Two air raid shelter is visible on aerial photographs. It was located alongside a group of glasshouses at Magdalen Way, Gorleston. It is unlikely that it survives.

A World War Two air raid shelter, located at the rear of a farm and next to a series of glasshouses to the west of Magdalen Way, Gorleston, is visible on aerial photographs (S1). The site is centred on TG 5167 0386. This shelter is visible as an extant earthen covered mound, measuring approximately 3m square, with a blast wall covered entrance to the south. The shelter was located where St Anne’s Crescent now runs.
