Summary

An area of World War Two bomb damage is visible on aerial photographs either side of the Lowestoft Road, in the vicinity of the Tramway Hotel and the old Tramway Depot. The Hotel was bombed on 12th June 1941. A nearby Auxiliary Fire Service Station was also damaged in this raid, however no sign of this was identified on the aerial photographs.

An area of World War Two bomb damage is visible on aerial photographs either side of the Lowestoft Road, in the vicinity of the Tramway Hotel and the old Tramway Depot (S1). The site is centred on TG 5260 0424. The Hotel was bombed on 12th June 1941 (S2; p38). A nearby Auxiliary Fire Service Station was also damaged in this raid, however no sign of this was identified on the aerial photographs.
