Map

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of a probable late Saxon to medieval saltern mound and an undated, possible medieval, drainage ditch are visible on aerial photographs (S1 and S2). These earthworks are centred on TG 4618 0523. A sub-oval mound measuring 50m by 34m is present in the northern part of this group of earthworks at TG 4617 0528. It is likely that this is a saltern mound of probably late Saxon to medieval date. It is flanked on its north and east sides by a curvilinear drainage ditch or channel, that extends for a further 130m to the south of the mound. This ditch may have originated as a natural channel and is probably also medieval in date.
