December 1996. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description:
Methodist church. 1868, extended 1901. Red brick with a gault brick façade under a slate roof. Single storey. Façade in 3 bays, the centre bay brought forward with double-leaf 2-panelled doors set within a stuccoed doorcase with foliate consoles to the hood. One round-arched window with glazing bars right and left set within recesses; gauged arches. Clasping pilasters to angles and above the doorcase rising to a moulded cornice and enclosing a date plaque: `Methodist Church 1868'. Gabled roof. 4-bay returns, each bay defined by a gault-brick pilaster strip, and containing a round-arched window with glazing bars. Gabled extension to east of red brick with gault brick dressings under a slate roof added 1901.
