Summary

This terrace of houses was built between 1844 and 1847. It has now been modified and part of the terrace is now used as a hotel. The buildings are made of gault brick but they have been partly stuccoed and colourwashed. Each terrace has three storeys over a basement. On the first floor are original cast iron balconies and original staircases can be seen inside some of the properties.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Terrace of houses, part now hotel. 1844-1847. Gault brick,partly stuccoed and colourwashed. Slate roof. Three storeys on a basement. Each house of two-window range in form of a doorway and a three-storey canted window bay (Nos 28-36) or a two-storey canted bay (Nos 37-41). Cast-iron balcony at first floor of canted bays supported on pierced iron brackets. Doors originally of two vertical panels. Plain doorcases except for Nos 35 and 36 which have Corinthian pilasters. Fenestration now mixed...Gabled roof with ridge stacks at intervals.
INTERIOR: stick-baluster staircase with ramped and wreathed handrail."
