Map

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of linear and curvilinear ditches of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These earthworks are centred on TG 4919 0797 in an area of former marshland. A group of earthworks of narrow linear and curvilinear drainage ditches are present on several different alignments. These alignments do not correspond to the extant pattern of drainage ditches and are not marked on the early 20th century second edition 6 inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map (S2). It is likely that they are of medieval to post medieval date and relate to a drainage pattern predating the adjacent railway line, which opened in 1844.
