Map

September 1983. Listed Grade II.
Listing Description:
18th-century. Rendered and colourwashed. Smut pantile roof. Two storeys. Sashes with glazing bars. Parapetted gables. Two chimney stacks; one off-centre, one at west gable. Off-centre doorway with simple doorcase. Later shop front to right. Flint, brick and pantile catslide extension to rear.
Information from (S1).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 23 May 2019.

Building has been restored since Listing. (S1) suggests it may have a lobby entrance. West wall, to Lees Yard, is of unrendered flint and against the southwest quoins at a height of about 1.5m, but obscured by a drainpipe, is a stone plaque carved in pre-modern lettering
PIT….63..
ST
It may be that Lees Yard was once Pit Street but the positioning of the numerals suggests they are unlikely to be part of a date. The plaque may have some reference to property boundaries. But it is an interesting early survival.
E. Rose (NLA), 16 December 2005.

May 2011. Planning Application.
Erection of single-storey rear extension.
