Summary

A World War Two emergency water supply tank is visible on 1940s aerial photographs. It was located on Baliol Road in Gorleston and was one of several tanks in the immediate area provided for the use of fire fighters during bombing raids.

A World War Two emergency water supply tank is visible on wartime aerial photographs on Baliol Road, Gorleston (S1). The site is centred on TG 5226 0402. The water tank is visible as an extent structure, measuring 7m in diameter. The tank occupies an area of ground in between two rows of terraces. It is one of several tanks located within Gorleston for the emergency use of fire fighters during bombing raids, see NHER 42264, 42271 and 42315 for other sites.
