Summary

A World War Two air raid shelter is visible on aerial photographs on Station Road, Hopton-On-Sea. The air raid shelter is visible as an entrance cut into an agricultural yard, this would have led down to an underground chamber. The shelter is located within an area of agricultural buildings and it is possible that it was constructed for local farm workers and inhabitants. However it is also possible that it was used by military personnel as there are several large military sites and camps nearby, see NHER 42486-7 and 42491.
