Summary

Originally a barn but converted into a school in 1838 with additional facitilies added in the 19th century. The school closed by 1907 and is now used as a meeting house by the Jehovah's Witnesses.

June 1988. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description: Former School, now Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Built 1837 for Mr Strickland Neville-Holt. Coursed ironstone rubble with brick dressings. Hipped pantile roof. Brick quoins. Central projecting 3 bay porch under continuous lower hipped roof. Central partially blocked doorway, now containing shuttered 2 light window, eitherside are single similar windows all with brick quoined jambs. Setback eitherside are single large shuttered 2 light windows with brick quoined jambs and segmental heads. The roof is topped by a 5 light, glazing bar lantern with a hipped lead roof. To the west, 2 single-bay parallel ranges with hipped roofs, and to the east a single bay leanto with a round headed doorway and 20th century door. Beyond a 20th century garage, not of special interest.
