Summary

A small shed or similar structure visible as an extant building on aerial photographs may be a World War Two structure of military origin. It was in place by 1944 and had been removed by 1947. It lay approximately 160m to the east of a light anti aircraft battery (NHER 42521) with which it may have been associated.

Map

February 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A small shed or similar structure is visible on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), centred at TG 5150 0650. It was constructed by 1944 and had been removed by 1947 (S3). This, together with its relatively new appearance on the 1944-5 aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), suggests that it was probably constructed during the war and might therefore have had a military function. It seems probable that it was associated with the light anti aircraft battery (NHER 42521) located 160m to its west. Alternatively, it might have been a non-military structure, perhaps associated with agriculture or drainage.
