Summary

A static emergency water supply tank, dating to World War Two, is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs taken in 1944. It is one of several such tanks positioned around Great Yarmouth for use by fire fighters after bombing raids. It was located on what was probably a bomb site, in the front gardens of what are now Numbers 42 and 44 Suffolk Road, Gorleston-on-Sea. It was erected between May and July 1944, and had been removed by August 1945.

A World War Two static emergency water supply tank is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TG 5223 0544. It consisted of an above-ground circular tank, one of several erected at various locations around the town. It was erected between May and July 1944 (compare (S1) and (S2)), on what was probably a bomb site at 42-44 Suffolk Road, Gorleston-on-Sea. The tank was removed by August 1945 (S3) and the houses have subsequently been rebuilt.
