Full Description
June 1981. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description:
Probably late 17th century. Rendered timber frame. Steep pantile roof with gabled ends. Two storeys. Three windows. Large modern casements. Modern glazed door. Brick chimney stack off centre and another at end.
Information from (S1).
A. Cattermole (NLA), 20 February 2006.
Timber framed house. Evidence obscured by alterations in 19th century and 1988 but appears to be a two-cell building with firehood between the two, and upper floor, with diamond mullioned windows. Extended to north around 1580 to 1620 by ornate parlour block, and stack replaced in brick.
(S2) in file.
E. Rose (NLA), 20 February 2006.
July 2008. Building survey.
One-and-a-half storey building, of five irregular bays. The building is thought to have originally been an open hall house due to the spacing of the bays, the position of the diamond mullioned ungalzed windows and an inserted transverse joist. The wethering of the timber of the interior south gable wall is indicative of it having been used as a brewery or dairy.
See (S3) and (S4) for further details.
H. White, (NLA), 6 November 2009
