Summary

The Old Rectory is an 18th century house of painted brick with a steep slated roof with coped gable ends. This two storey building has a central pilastered doorcase with pediment, and three modern flat roof dormers. There is an early 19th century painted brick wing on the north end, with a slate roof with gabled ends.

Listing Description:
18th century house. Painted brick. Steep slated roof with coped gable ends. Two storeys and attic. Three bays. Sashes with glazing bars, ground floor two square bays with hipped slated roofs. Central pilastered doorcase with pediment and fielded panel door. Three modern flat roof dormers. Early 19th century wing on north end, painted brick, slate roof with gabled ends, two storeys, one window, glazed and panelled door.

March 2008.
Proposal to alter internal layout by widening entrance hall, providing new staircase, removing a portion of the ceiling to expose existing frame trusses and purlins and to replace kitchen floor. In addition, a new sunroom and garage block would be attached.
