Map

April 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Possible World War Two structure visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1) and 1953 (S2). RAF 1946 aerial photographs show a sub-rectangular area levelled flat, approximately 70m by 40m. At the southern end of this area, at TF 6629 3677, is a row of five circular features with height, which may be posts or ‘bollards'. These are 0.5m in diameter and evenly spaced 0.5m apart. These are set within the recess of two pentagonal structures, which join together around the back to form almost a C-shaped feature. This surrounding structure does not appear to have any great height to it. This site is likely to be part of the World War Two coastal defences, other examples of which are located in the immediate proximity (NHER 23515-6, NHER 32385).
S. Massey (NMP), 22 April 2002.
