Full Description
March 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of undated linear ditches, possibly forming incomplete enclosures, are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TF 7463 3777. A total of four sections of linear ditch cropmark are present. Three of these lie on the same northwest to southeast alignment. These appear to be part of the same ditch, which extends intermittently for 200m. It is crossed by the fourth ditch cropmark at right angles and is visible for 84m. The perpendicular arrangement of these ditches suggests that they may have formed part of a rectilinear field system or group of enclosures. However, the cropmarks are too fragmentary for any dimensions or definite identification to be made. These ditches lie at an angle to the surviving post medieval field pattern and are likely to be of an unknown, medieval or earlier, date.
