A chain of four World War Two bomb craters are visible on aerial photographs within an area of grazing marsh, Hickling (S1-S2). The site is centred on TG 4439 2187. The craters are all circular and approximately 11m across. The crater is surrounded by a characteristic ‘splash’ of upcast material. The two central craters have fallen in approximately the same location, with one cutting into the other.
