Summary

A possible rectilinear double ditched boundary or trackway, of unknown date, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs, together with a more isolated segment of ditch. The archaeological origin of the cropmarks is rather doubtful, however, as they are only visible on aerial photographs from a single flight. Furthermore, they are aligned almost parallel to the surrounding field boundaries and agricultural marks, suggesting the possibility that they are modern in origin.

Map

March 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Linear and rectilinear cropmarks are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1997 (S1), centred at TG 4582 1890. They may represent ditches of unknown date, principally a double ditched rectilinear boundary or trackway. Although they are aligned almost parallel to modern field boundaries and agricultural tramlines, there is enough of a discrepancy for their archaeological origin to remain a possibility, albeit rather uncertain.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 15 March 2006.
