Full Description
Late 2003. Earthwork Survey.
Walkover survey of land to north of Horsford Castle.
Site 9:
An embayment from the boundary ditch which could be a remnant of a natural feature. It extends around 30m into the woodland, initially around 8m wide and gradually narrowing and merging into the general ground level. Thick bracken cover makes its precise size impossible to determine, and it may well have a slightly curving form. A possible watering point for animals within the park.
See report (S1) for further details. The results of this survey are also noted in (S2).
M. Dennis (NLA), 22 March 2006. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 10 June 2015.
