Full Description
Farmhouse. Late 18th century. English bond red brick, red and smut pantile roof. Symmetrical east and west façade with three storey gabled centre, two storey set back lean-to wings. South front centre has two ground, three first and one attic wooden frame casements. Central glazed door. Wings have one ground floor three-light and one first floor two-light casements. Centre has coped brick parapet with kneelers. South has 18th century bracketed pentice canopy to ground floor door. Inspired by Palladian façade arrangement of pedimented centre with two half pediment wings. Suggests connection with 18th century Houghton Estate architecture.
A. Cattermole (NLA) 23 March 2006.
