Summary

An archaeological evaluation by trial trench and borehole survey in 2006 revealed a medieval ditch which cut through an earlier soil containing possible prehistoric, Roman and medieval finds. The ditch was sealed by a cobbled surface, which may indicate the presence of a cobbled yard or track.

Waxham Barns Car Park. Contexts 1 to 13 used.
Revealed a medieval ditch, possibly a boundary to the early medieval manorial complex (HNER 8365) and may have been part of either an enclosure ditch or even a moat.
The ditch cut through an earlier soil containing possible prehistoric, Roman and medieval finds.
It was sealed by a cobbled surface, which may indicate the presence of a cobbled yard or track.
