Summary

A disused drain, which probably dates to the post medieval period, is visible as an earthwork and vegetation marks on aerial photographs. It is not depicted on any of the consulted historic maps, but it runs between two boundaries shown on Southtown Tithe Map (1843) and like these boundaries it probably relates to the drainage of Southtown Marshes in the post medieval period. The site has since been built over and the earthwork presumably levelled.

A disused drain is visible as an earthwork and vegetation marks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), between TG 5163 0613 and TG 5165 0599. It was located between two boundaries depicted on Southtown Tithe Map (S3), and like these boundaries it was probably associated with the drainage of Southtown marshes in the post medieval period (discussed by (S4)). The site has since been built over (it is now occupied by Harfreys Industrial Estate and Boundary Road) and the earthwork presumably levelled.
