Summary

This U-shaped brick stable block was built around 1785. The original U-shaped plan has now been filled in by a pair of garages.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"Stables. Around 1785. Brick with slate roofs. Formerly U-plan filled in by pair of garages with lean-to pantiled roof. Seven-bay façade of semi-circular headed arches with Diocletian windows (two blind and painted). Three entrances. Painted brick stringcourse at impost line. Central three bays slightly advanced and pedimented with oculus."

Palatial stable block with accommodation for groom and finely made stalls for horses with haylofts and circular pitching holes.
