Summary

The school was built in 1879 and closed in 1960/61. In 1998 an underground brick arch, possibly part of a coal chute, privy or cess pit for the school, was discovered.

Former school converted to house.

1998. Found in making extension.
Underground brick arch, of same brick as school. Suggested as coal chute for a demolished section of the building. It may equally well have been a privy or cess pit.

The school was built in 1879 and constructed from flint cobbles within brick frames. The school closed in 1960/61.
