Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Curvilinear ditch and linear features visible on OS aerial photographs from 1994 (S1). The main ditches feature runs from TG 0723 4006 to TG 0730 4009 and measures approximately 90m long and varies in width from 1-1.5m. This linear is crossed by a slightly narrower ditch running from TG 0726 4008 to TG 0729 4006, measuring 33m long and less than 1m wide. To the east of this is a 9m long stretch of ditch running from TG 0727 4009 to TG 0727 4008. A very similar feature is located to the west, running from TG 0724 4005 to TG 0724 4004. To the west of this is a possible pit-like feature centred on TG 0723 4005, measuring 2m by 3m. The archaeological nature of this feature is not certain, as it may be a geological pocket. NHER 15024 sits within the area defined by these cropmarks. This site constitutes a localised collection of Roman material, pottery and tile. It is therefore likely that these ditches may also be Roman in date.
S. Massey (NMP), 24 January 2003.
