Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmark of parched linear visible on OS aerial photographs from 1994 (S1). The linear feature is visible in two sections, interrupted by modern field boundaries. The two sections run from TG 0864 4015 to TG 0884 4007 and TG 0884 4007 to TG 0889 4005. The bank varies in width from 3-4m. The date of this feature is unknown. It is possible that it is a relatively modern pipe, possible related to the pig site to the east of the area. No such parched linear can be detected on the 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S2). The feature may however be a much earlier bank or field boundary, it is not possible to date it definitely.
S. Massey (NMP), 27 January 2003.
