Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Group of earthwork banks and ditches visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). Three parallel linear ditches or drains are visible, the longest being 197m in length and between 1-2.5m wide. These ditches flank the remains of the two raised linear earthworks. The most complete linear runs from TG 0858 4383 to TG 0857 4399. It is 155m long and 8m. To the west are three sections of bank, which were presumably part of the same linear, running from TG 0857 4380 to TG 0856 4398. To the north of these a raised linear can be seen to bridge across a saltmarsh creek from TG 0856 4399 to TG 0856 4402. This raised area across the creek may indicate that these earthworks acted as routeways across the saltmarsh and are likely to be post-medieval in date.
S. Massey (NMP), 19 March 2003.

December 2004. Norfolk Rapid Coastal Zone Archaeological Survey.
Land-based survey; Cley, Salthouse and Kelling fresh-marshes, Context 15:
A north to south aligned ditch survives as a shallow earthwork. It is about 4m wide.
See assessment report (S2) for further details.
