A group of linear cropmarks of unknown date is visible on BKS aerial photographs from 1988 (S1). The date of these ditches is unknown and it seems likely that they represent a palimpsest of several phases of activity. The cluster of roughly parallel ditches and perpendicular elements at TG 0792 4231 may represent part of an organised system of ditches or an enclosed area. Again the date of this is unknown, although it is possible that it may be Late Iron Age-Romano-British. The main group of linear ditches are concentrated around TG 0792 4231, where quite fragmentary sections of ditch may possible be part of a rectilinear enclosure or similar system of ditches. The clearest ditches run from TG 0789 4233 to TG 0791 4230, 37m long and 1.5m wide. To the east of this is an L-shaped ditch section from TG 0792 4230 to TG 0791 4229 and then turns to the south-east and continues the line of the first ditch. Another set of roughly parallel linears are visible to the north, running from TG 0791 4233 to TG 0793 4231 and continuing from TG 0793 4231 to TG 0794 4230. The longest of these being 24m long. Another linear can be seen following a similar orientation to the south from TG 0794 4230 to TG 0795 4228. The whole field is covered in geological cropmarks, many quite curvilinear in appearance. The two linears mapped running from TG 0792 4228 to TG 0793 4229 and TG 0793 4229 to TG 0794 4230 are quite linear, although it is possible that they are also geological. This is also the case for the linear mapped running from TG 0792 4234 to TG 0894 4233. Another ditched feature was mapped to the north of the site, bisected by a field boundary and trackway. The feature is visible as a slight earthwork running from TG 0800 4238 to TG 0799 4237, 17m long and up 1.5m wide. This ditch then appears to continue as a cropmark in the arable field to the south, running from TG 0799 4236 to TG 0798 4234, 19m long and comparable width. To the east of this another ditched feature is visible from TG 0802 4234 to TG 0802 4231, 32m long and 2m wide. This linear appears to be a continuation of the field boundary and trackway to the north, which may be post-medieval in date. To the very south of the site is another isolated linear ditch, running from TG 0798 4221 to TG 0798 4215, 60m long and 1m wide.
