Summary

A probable World War Two bomb crater is visible as an earthwork and disturbed ground on 1940s aerial photographs. It is first visible on aerial photographs taken in March 1944 but as these are the earliest consulted photographs of the area, it may have been created some time earlier. The intended target may have been the railway line (NHER 13575) that once lay approximately 50m to the east. More recent aerial photographs suggest that the crater may still survive as a slight earthwork.
