Summary

Earthworks of a former road and ditches of probable post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs. A curved section of hollow way that is still in use as a farm track is present on a roughly north to south alignment. It connects to a more clearly defined track at its northern end and a modern road to the south. This track is marked as a road or track on Faden’s 1797 map of Norfolk and is likely to be of medieval to post medieval date. Cutting across, and to the southwest of, the track are narrow linear ditch earthworks. These do not correspond to any features marked on the Earsham enclosure map of 1812 or any later maps. Some of the ditches appear to relate to a pond and possibly have a drainage function. It is likely that these features are of post medieval date.
