Summary

Cropmarks of two ring ditches of probable Bronze Age date are visible on aerial photographs. These cropmarks were previously recorded as part of NHER 11676. The largest of the two ring ditches has a sub-circular plan with a narrow ditch and a maximum external diameter of 40m. The second ring ditch is located 90m to the northeast and has an external diameter of 16m. It is likely that both of these ring ditches are of Bronze Age date and that they relate to round barrows. Cropmarks of two pits, possibly graves, are visible within the smaller ring ditch. The larger ring ditch is cut by linear ditch cropmarks of unknown date (NHER 43614). These ring ditches are located on the terrace of the River Waveney and form part of a dispersed barrow cemetery, with other ring ditches located to the west (NHER 43612) and northeast (NHER 43610, 43538-40).

Cropmarks of two ring ditches of probable Bronze Age date are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S9). These cropmarks are centred on TM 3068 8785 and were previously recorded as part of NHER 11676. The largest of the two ring ditches is located at TM 3065 8782. It has a sub-circular plan with a narrow ditch and a maximum external diameter of 40m. The second ring ditch is located 90m to the northeast at TM 3071 8789. It has a circular plan with a narrow ditch and an external diameter of 16m. It is likely that both of these ring ditches are of Bronze Age date and that they relate to round barrows. Cropmarks of two pits are visible within the smaller ring ditch. It is possible that these are graves. The larger ring ditch is cut by linear ditch cropmarks of unknown date (NHER 43614). These ring ditches are located on the terrace of the River Waveney at approximately 16m OD. Their relationship to each other, both in terms of size and position, is mirrored by another pair of ring ditches located to the northeast (NHER 43540). These cropmarks form part of a dispersed barrow cemetery with other ring ditches located to the west (NHER 43612) and northeast (NHER 43610, 43538-40).
