Map

April 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of undated and possibly post medieval ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S6). These cropmarks are centred on TM 3091 8830. The majority of the ditch cropmarks have a northwest to southeast and southwest to northeast alignment, comparable with that of the modern field pattern. Although none of the cropmarks correspond to boundaries marked on the 1812 Earsham enclosure map (S7) they are probably field boundaries of post medieval date. Other short sections of linear ditches are present in different alignments. One of these ditches crosses a cropmark of a Bronze Age ring ditch (NHER 43610). It is possible that these ditches are also field boundaries, but their date is unknown.
